Alliance Data associates innovate to optimize customer experience and digital technology at second annual Hackathon

How can you improve the customer, brand or associate experience in just 24 hours? That was the challenge posed to the nearly 100 Alliance Data associates who participated in the company’s second annual Hackathon event in July.

Hackathon participants across 15 cross-functional teams brought their innovative spirits to the forefront as they developed unique solutions to advance digital capabilities for our customers, brand partners and associates and improve the overall customer experience. During the whirlwind event, each team brainstormed and finalized their concept, created a prototype and crafted a presentation for the judges. Solutions ranged from innovative product features leveraging digital technology and analytics to enhancements to existing associate tools. ​

Each team presented their idea to a panel of judges, who scored each idea for its:

  • Innovation and originality
  • Viability in the market
  • User experience
  • Collaboration
  • Presentation

While first, second and third place winners were named, all the ideas generated at the Hackathon will be shared throughout Alliance Data for future consideration or implementation. 

“Once again this year, we were highly impressed with unique ideas and solutions and the level of creativity all of the teams brought to the 2019 Hackathon,” said Hackathon judge Tom Pugh, Director of Architecture Applications at Alliance Data. “This event is an excellent platform for the innovative spirit that is the foundation of Alliance Data."
